If you check out local stores, you will find these are at least a bit below retail sales price for these batteries. Batteries will always be around the same price, but a few dollars off is worth getting them through Amazon!

Put a pair of these in my TV remote. The remote was not working, and upon opening up the battery cover to check on the batteries, found that one of these batteries was very, very hot to the touch. In fact, the label on the battery had started to bubble up from the heat. Luckily it was not in there long enough to start a fire.

By the way, went to the Duracell website to try to send them an email about this problem…guess what? To even send them an email you have to enter sensitive personal information such as your birthdate. This is ridiculous – no more Duracell for me!

The package touts a “7-year guarantee”. I bought the batteries mid-May ‘10. They were made in April ‘10, and they expire in March 2016. 2016 – 2010 = 6. I have no idea where they got 7.

At time of this review the price is a tad higher than buying at Lowes but less if you go subscribe and save. I like staying at home to buy stuff for less money :)

I’m pretty used to buying batteries online and finding they had been made long before I ordered them (had some CR123 with experations the next month from another vendor). In at least my case, my batteries from this vendor show a production date of 3/30/10…and I ordered them on April 18th. You can’t get any younger batteries (exp is Mar2016). I’ll be checking this distrbutor out for the rest of my battery needs.
