My 14yr old daughter bought this to fool around and make videos with her friends. She is very happy with how easy it was to use. It has great controls and the software included was easy to install and use. She was able to import the videos that she took into her iMovie program on her computer and edit the video that way as well which really pleased her. The HD video quality is fantastic. While filming a birthday cake we were amazed how quickly the camera adjusted to the dimmer lighting. All in all it is a great handy little camcorder.
Bought this item at costco. Didn’t work. Returned it and got a second one, didn’t work. This thing is suppose to have a partial charge. Dead as a doornail. Tried to charge it, deader then a doornail What a crock. I’ll just use my iphone. It’s more reliable.
What I like about this flip cam is that you can carry it in your pocket, and it has HD quality. it doesn’t do everything and the zoom is not too great, but it is a great buy for the money and will serve you well.
This camera shoots great video. At times I am be hard pressed to tell the difference between what I shot with the Flip and what I shot with my Canon XL H1 ($8K camera). Definitely a convienent camera to have around if all you care about is video. I am not in the business of making silent films. Which leads me to the glaring ommission on the Flip camera. What I can’t figure out and why I am giving it such a low review, there is no external microphone plug. The Kodak camera has got one the Sony Webbie has got one; why not spend the extra $1 to put an external microphone plug on this camera. We are not talking XLR plug – just a small miniplug so that I can use a decent mike. This is the reason I returned it and got the Kodak.
We purchased this camera in order to video our new grand-baby. It has done a wonderful job and we have been very pleased with the results. The only additional feature we would like to see is a better zoom capability.
