Compared to the stock ones provides by Garmin, quality wise these fall short, but that aside it works as expected and it was cheap, so.
I ordered these to put into a second vehicle, and to charge my new GPS from wall outlets. Neither the car charger nor the wall charger would charge the GPS. The GPS reacted to being plugged in as if it were plugged into a USB cable to a computer, or cycled through an attempt to open maps.
The product shipped on time and received on time in a secure package and great price. All 3 items worked perfectly out of the box. The price from Amazon was about 65% less than from Garmin for the 3 items. It is a great value.
I placed my order for this item on March 11, 2010 and it took until April 2, 2010 for my order to arrive. The items I ordered were what I was expecting and I was satisfied with my order. I was dissatisfied that the seller did not ship the wrist band listed in the package. After a couple weeks the seeler contacted me and offered to refund my shipping and apoligized for the delay in shipping. Other than the delay in the shipping I was satisfied with the product.
Before I purchased this 255, I read a lot of reviews about different models of GPS. I paid more attention to the reviews from 3-star to 1 star. Finally I chose 255 that has fewer negative reviews, and its worst review is not that bad. I bought this as a gift for my husband’s birthday. We tried it out on the trip to Chicago. It is VERY accurate. The screen is bight and clear. The sound is laud and clear enough too. My husband likes it so much and is considering buy another one for his brother’s birthday.
The shortcomings are:
1. The website only provide 1 free map update.
2. It is kind of confusing when you walk on the street with it although it is amazingly good when you are driving.
3. The package doesn’t come with wall plug-in charger and USB cable, so I had to order from another seller and paid extra shipping.
All in all, it is a great GPS. I love it.
