Works well. Easy to use. Prior to purchasing, I did think that the memory card would insert into the end of the device. However it inserts into the side. While I have no problem with this at this time, it can make it difficult to use with crowded USB ports unless you plan its position ahead.
Well worth the price, in fact a great deal for the price! This is the second one I’ve purchased!
sdhc card works fine. I liked the usb adaptor which makes easier to use on any computer.
When I put this “Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card” into the SDHC slot of my laptop, usually in less than a minute the laptop crashes (serious blue screen shutdown). The same thing happens if the laptop is powered on with the flash card already in the slot.
My laptop is an HP Pavilion running 64-bit Windows 7 with the latest updates. It is possible that there is some driver error or there is something wrong with the laptop’s SDHC slot hardware. A clue to the problem may be that on a couple of occasions when I shut down the computer with the flash card still in the slot, the system hung up trying to log off (this was not a blue screen crash, it just continued cranking while displaying the log off screen). Another time I tried to shut down with the flash card in the slot, a message was displayed saying something like: the SDHC card program was not shutting down.
I contacted Transcend through their web site and described the problem. I got an email asking for the serial number of the card. But nothing else for a couple of days. This lack of responsiveness supports what another reviewer said about his experience–the contact people seem to be just going through the motions without really focusing on input from the customer and solving problems. So back it goes for a refund from Amazon.
The reader is made of cheap plastic that seems easily breakable but that could be replaced without much expense.
I am very happy with this card, it is a great value and very fast.
